Playing songs and choosing your audio output

Playing a song

Play starts from the playhead. Click the waveform first to move the playhead where you want to start.

Play Hook and Loop Hook play just the hook, so you can check you have picked the right few seconds. Loop Hook keeps repeating it.

Choosing where the sound comes out

The Audio Device menu lists every sound output on the computer — your studio monitors, a USB interface, whatever you have.

You can change it while a song is playing. Your choice is remembered for next time.

A note on ASIO devices. Some virtual ASIO drivers (ASIO4ALL, Voicemeeter) will show as playing while producing no sound, because the audio is being routed elsewhere by the driver itself. If you hear nothing, check that driver's own control panel. This is not a fault in VSE2 and there is nothing VSE2 can do about it.
