Working on many files at once

Bulk scanning, editing and dates

Select the songs you want with their checkboxes, then use one of these. This is where VSE2 earns its keep on a week's new adds.

Scan Cue Values

Goes through every checked song, works out where the audio actually gets loud enough to matter, and sets the Cue and Outro points for you.

Enormously faster than doing a hundred new adds by hand. You can still open any song afterwards and adjust it.

Set the level you want VSE2 to treat as the start of the song, and let it do the rest.

Bulk date assignment

If your new music files are named with a date in them — something like 20260714_songname.mp3 — VSE2 can read the date out of the filename and set the start dates for hundreds of songs in one go.

See Start dates and restrictions.

Save Grid Changes

You can type straight into the artist, title and album columns in the list. Save Grid Changes writes those edits to the files.

Update CF

Sets the crossfade flag on all the checked songs at once. See Zetta, crossfade and more.

Reload Data

Re-reads the checked songs from disk, in case something else has changed them.
